...but can it run DOOM? (Hello World)
Couldn't load pickup availability
In the early days of computing, it was common to demonstrate a system was working by having it print 'Hello World' to the screen. Over the 30 years since the launch of DOOM, a strange phenomenon has occurred. Hackers began porting DOOM to almost every device imaginable (from pregnancy tests and ATMs to kitchen fridges and electric lawnmowers). Getting it running on absurd devices has become the universay benchmark for creativity, hacking and computational flexing. It has become a challenge, a joke and a mirror for our obsession with computational power. Now, when we want to prove a system functions, instead of displaying 'Hello World', we display a shotgun blast in a 3D world.
