Hundred Hand Slap (Push back)
Couldn't load pickup availability
In Street Fighter II for the SNES, Honda is a sumo wrestler who executes an attack called the "Hundred Hand Slap". You just jam the buttons as fast as you can and he'll blast the other player with a rapid fire succession of small attacks. This slap is a bit of a cartoon version of what is called "tsuppari" in Japanese. The word comes from the verb tsupparu, which means to "push through" or "push back". Ever since I read about this, I've been thinking about how a protest movement is like a hundred hand slap. A hundred small blows, each of which wouldn't do anything, when landed in rapid succession from a hundred different angles can definitely push back. And the fact that these protests take place in the streets gives a new meaning to the title "Street Fighter".
