On a Saturday morning in April, 1986 while children were curled up in front of their TVs watching Saturday morning cartoons and commercials for the latest toys and sweetest cereals, on the other side of the world, kids were evacuating their homes and leaving behind the toys they would never again return to, as the nuclear reactor at Chernobyl melted-down.  This piece plays a full three-hour 1986 broadcast of Saturday morning cartoons and commercials on the Sony Watchman to the left while playing footage of the Chernobyl disaster news coverage on the Watchman to the right.
